Ok here's one of my
problem when I'm on atkins. I had this syndrome that love to chew all the time, like a rabbit!! Hehe.. If I didn't chew I'll be like
zombie that don't have enough energy, lazy, weak with that smelly breath… :P ,
So to overcome the starving I had these…
- Boiled Egg of course
This
is the simplest and the safest finger food to eat. But I'm pretty sure all of
you already feel bored with it. Ya I know!! Me too… however, I'll try to make it interesting to
eat, by making it impressive! And as a malaysian, we love spicy food.. So I had
it with my homemade sambal bilis… my all time favourite!
- Fried Anchovies
I
love this and it is the best finger food as this is relatively cheap. All you
need is just anchovies and fry it. If you want more taste to it, simple add
bird eye chilies or onion. Drain the oil properly and make sure to let it cool
for a little bit just to keep it crispier. You can store this in normal room
temperature and when you are hungry just grab salad or oopsie bread to eat with
it or maybe just eat it like that.
- Miang Kham
Alrite,
this is something unusual! Well, since my backyard have plenty of this betel
leaves, I decided to make fully use of it.. Hehe! However it is best to eat
immediately as the leaf still fresh and green. So what is miang kham? Ok,
here's from wiki … hehehe!
Miang
kham is a traditional snack from Thailand and Laos. It is often sold in the
street, with the ingredients wrapped separately in small plastic bags. The name
"miang kham" translates to "eating many things in one
bite".
So
normally miang kham would have 7 side dishes that have all combination taste
like sweet, sour, salty, spicy, crunchy and creamy. Unfortunately for atkins we
are not allowed to have sweet stuff, right? but I substitute it with other
sauce and it does taste superb and tasty. I'll share my version of recipe in
the next post.
- Cucumber and Celery Stick.
Hmm,
this is too common but it is cheap and easy. Just cut it in stick form and eat
it with kew pie mayo sauce. Simple and easy and most importantly less carbs!!
- Tao Kae Noi Crispy Seaweed
Well,
this is a very popular finger food in Malaysia maybe because its available
everywhere and you don't have to cook. Easy peasy! I love the original flavor
compared to others and i always keep it by my side. When I travel I make sure
this is a "must have" snack in my car. However to consume this every
day is a bit pain in the ass cos its quite pricey. But of course you won't eat this everyday..
Hahaha!
